Were We Expecting This?
Yes, we we’re expecting the indictment. There seemed to be enough evidence to indict Casey based upon what I had heard from my son, Jeremiah and from the media. It is important to remember that Casey is innocent until proven guilty. We were sorry that he may have had that material on his computer, especially with three children in the home. I don’t know if this material has any direct or indirect relationship to the murder investigation that is in progress, time will tell. Casey passed a polygraph test early in the investigation of the murder. His alleged involvement with the pornography has placed increased strain on the families involved. We do pray that Casey and Noel cooperate fully with the law enforcement system in helping to solve Evey’s murder, it’s the least that they can do for her memory.

How Does it Feel

It’s just hazy down here. I don’t know if it will rain or not and kind of don’t care. Linda is working at Younkers in Merle Hay Mall and is scheduled today. I’ll be taking her, then getting a haircut and paying bills. Just too much excitement!

We have new neighbors who were displaced by Katrina. She and her two children lived in New Orleans and we’re just getting to know them.

There is not much new on Evey’s case either. We just watch – hope – pray – write – read – talk – console – grieve – meet – repeat over and over. I wish that there was some finality to it. It is kind a kind of thing where you don’t want to encourage sympathy or pity – you’ve already had that; it was a comfort to us then – it doesn’t help now and we don’t need any more of it.

Empathy does work; the kind of empathy that we’re getting from our Victims Group and others who have sent us e-mails who have gone through similar situations. The words, “I understand”, have taken on a new meaning for us when they are spoken by someone who has had a similar loss.

We just want to get on with our lives but it seems that we both move slowly through a black endless tunnel daily. I just wish that it would all go away. We know that she is in the eternal arms of the Lord, perhaps that should be enough for us but it just seems not to cut it.

We think that we know exactly who is responsible for her death. We don’t know exactly how it happened, the reasons why, or who actually killed her. Time will tell – we hope – we pray.

We don’t want any kind or reparation or revenge, just an acknowledgement from society about what happened so that perhaps other families and their children won’t get into the same situation. Only then can we allow Evey’s spirit to be at rest in our hearts and we can say, “We’re sorry honey. We’ll love and treasure you always.”

Love, Richard and Linda

Casey Attempts Suicide

The Charles City Press reported today that Casey Frederickson attempted suicide.

We are both very sad to see this type of situation happen. Our thoughts and prayers are with Casey and his family.

In that regard, I am removing the ability to post to this blog directly, since I can't in all honesty allow some bloggers out there to get carried away with their comments. If you have anything of interest, based upon hard facts, please e-mail me the information and I will edit it, preserving content, crediting the author and building it within the framework of this blog.

There is also a story with video about Andy's family and how they are coping with Evey's death on KCRG Cedar Rapids

I would also like to thank all of the subscribers of this blog who sent me the links to the various articles today.

We hope that there will be a quick and peaceful resolution to this tragedy soon

New KCRG Story - Updated

There is be a story posted here featuring Casey and Noel speaking of their recent difficulties. We are out of the viewing area and viewed it over the Internet.

One detail that Noel forgot to mention was that, according to information that I have from a reputable source, Noel has been uncooperative with investigators in their quest. She has refused to be questioned by the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation unless her attorney is present. What do you think?

Please leave your comments.

Who do you think committed this crime? Why? We have moved past sadness and sorrow - we want answers - we want to know.

If you would like to say anything here, please feel free to do so. You may also e-mail me directly and it will not appear in this blog. If you know of anyone who has any information please contact them and have them get in touch with us.

Floyd County Attorney Marilyn Dettmer's E-Mail

The correct e-mail address for the Floyd County Attorney is mdettmer@floydcoia.org

Do not use the response link on her site because that won't reach her. Use the e-mail above - it works. If you have or have had factual information which may be an aid to this case please send it to the address above even if you have sent it before to a different e-mail. The Floyd County Internet site has not been corrected as yet.
